I realized the other day that I have a large group of people I know solely through blogging--people I enjoy, admire, and consider dear friends.
I feel like I know so many of you, and feel that you know me, in spite of having never even heard your voices. That is kind of strange to me. Also, I've always wanted to hear what an author sounds like when I read their book. Maybe that's a quirk of being a theatrical animal. Well, since I would love to be able to hear all of you, I wondered if that feeling was mutual. Here's a link to a little narration I did for our school's Annual Fund drive. You don't HAVE to watch this, but if you are curious to hear what I sound like, go for it. However, a cruel trick of the lighting seems to have made it look like I have a double chin. This is a vicious, visual lie. Ignore it. I may send this in as an audition for our local PBS station....

You look just like I pictured, and my little Asus Eee netbook screened out any double chinnage. Unfortunately, it also has speakers made of tinfoil, so you sound, on this machine, like Max Headroom, or maybe you remember the "Teeny Litte Super Guy" from Sesame Street? I'm kinda thinking I need to watch the vid again on a machine larger than a kleenex box.

Now, Braden, tell me straight up. Did your Utah accent (dialect, I guess I should call it) get many southern people to donate to your school? Maybe so -- you seem so genuine, that I'm sure they must have overlooked your obvious status as an outlander, an interloper, a stranger in a strange land and given generously.

Was it hard to try and talk seriously and smile at the same time? I don't know why, but you sound different than I imagined. Not that I would know what I imagined, just sayin'.

Since our government apparently has no desire to move past 1999, I am still using IE 6, and it won't let me view it. I will do it when I get home tonigh.

So true. I always wonder what people's voice sound like too. I haven't listened to yours yet, but I will. Before I do though I already have your voice in my head. I hope you match it. DeNae didn't sound anything like I thought she would. Kristina P. sounded exactly like I thought she would. So did Shelle. Nutty Hamster sounds nothing like she writes. She's super mellow in real life.

I always love hearing and seeing my blog friends! It makes them that much more real, and once I know what they really sound like (and how their facial expressions look while talking) I imagine that while I am reading.
