I was talking to a writer friend the other day about how writing is months (or years) of agony, followed by intense bliss. Definitely in the blissful mode lately (which is nice after three years of work, struggle and despair on this book!) I got two wonderful reviews from other writers: J. Lloyd Morgan and Lynn Parsons. I really appreciate their kind words.
Lynn said: "this book should come with a warning label. Seriously. Once you pick it up, you won't get anything else done. You'll be pulled into a new world that is a perfect blend of fantasy and reality. You won't want to stop reading until the final page....This fast moving tale is interspersed with humor middle schoolers will appreciate, but adults will find this an enjoyable red, also. The images of a memorable scene that takes place in the "It's a Small World" ride will long be with me." (Read the whole review here)
J. Lloyd said: "First of all, bravo! Bell has written an engaging, creative story. It’s geared toward middle-grade readers, though, as an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed it....it was written in a way that I was laughing and holding on tightly to the edges of the book at the same time." Thanks so much Lynn and J. Lloyd! And, if you missed my earlier post on what to do if you don't like the book, you might check it out. I think it's applicable to a lot of situations--well beyond this.
